invisible printer

Can,t get my wireless printer to work. Gonna try Salix. Thanks everyone for your help. roywhite

need some help with my epson xp-400or the cups wireless printer. neither the system-config-printer app nor the cups web interface will recognize my printer. my system has broadcom-sta installed on it.I've been using linux for about 6 years. I can follow explicit directions but am completely ignorant about the command line. Any help is appreciated

First, let me apologize for the long time it took me to answer you. On a trip and didn't have access to a computer. Now to  answer your question, I am running VL 7.1 XFCE. I don't know much about that printer model, but to get you started on the right track: The computer and the printer need to be connected to the same network. Can you find the printer IP address using its control panel, and then go to that IP address in a browser from your computer?

my brother wireless required drivers. I downloaded the rpm drivers from brother and converted with rpm2txz and then installed.

 then  typed the ip address for the printer into the printer manager and the scan found the printer.

perhaps a similar process
