I have read the previous post on how-to increase buffer size on k3b by disabling tmpfs and that is not necessary at all!

Just do this: In k3b go to settings, then choose configure k3b, then go down to misc and voila' you will find out that it's possible too via the file browser icon to decide where the tempfile should be (you can place it anywhere).

Mine is in /home/roffe/rec, and i mostly choose to save the copy for later copying, the only hassle is that i often forget to rename the folders (as each copy automatically gets a new folder) so i sometimes end up with a lot of folders which are unnamed, and have to start over again to get some order.
