I'm sorry to have to say this, but I STILL can't get my printer (HP Deskjet 1512) to work with the new version. When I go to print a teat page, a window pops up that says "No such file or directory." :(. And yes, I installed HPLIP.

Alpha 1 is built.

The kernel has been updated to 4.4.2 LTS on this one.  Please test your audio/video/usb/printing and everything to make sure it all works.  This would be our target kernel for the final release.

Please download and test.

Thank you

Post the pertinent logs from /var/log or dmesg to help pin point the problem.

I tried to install Alpha 1, and the status indicator got to the point where it said "Setting Passwords" - and went no further  :'(.

Code: [Select]
md5sum <filename.iso>compare the output to the filename.iso.md5sum.txt on the same place you download the ISO from.[/code]

The cheksum of file I downloaded:

vector:/~/Downloads
doctor:$ md5sum VL-7.2-STD-A1.iso
87a52f35147288eced7eae9aa6de910d  VL-7.2-STD-A1.iso

And the checksum from http://vlcore.vectorlinux.com/untested/veclinux-7.2/iso/VL-7.2-STD-A1.iso.md5sum.txt:

Earlier tonight, using unetbootin, I loaded VL64-7.2-STD-A1.iso on my year old lenovo ideapad and it works great, far as I can tell.  Chrome loaded fine from the repository. I am watching longmyer (wireless) on my big TV now. What should I test?

Only weird thing I noticed tonight is that every half hour or so I screen would switch to some bouncing balls or some such, cured by hitting the space bar.  I turned off all power management when plugged it, but that did not help.

Check the screensaver settings, which are different from the power management settings.

Thanks retired1af,

I also notice that, at least when I have the big tv screen mirrored to the laptop's screen that on reboot the system hangs up mid-reboot and says that it can't find a theme, i.e. that it can't find:

/usr/share/gdm/themes/fedorasomething or another/fedorasomething or another.  Clicking OK allows the reboot to continue.  Sorry about the 'something or another" but I can't recall the exact name used by the fedora theme folder.  Anyway, I looked in the theme folder and there is nothing close to "fedora" in it.

Oh hell. You're getting that, too?! I thought it was because I installed Fedora 23 on another partition.

That's definitely a bug of some type.
