The installation stucks at the end
« on: October 09, 2015, 11:24:56 am »
Hello!
I've decided to download and install this distro (Vector linux). So after download i burnt it in a dvd and then i started to install it. but at the end of the installation it stuck at "Setting Passwords" i waited 30mn for that! but nothing happened so i had no choice than restarting and then a boot problem came out. could you please say where is the problem? (why it did stuck)
Thanks

Don't know. I would suggest trying again and changing the procedure. If you chose "automatic", try "advanced". Or the other way around. You can also type "install" on the first screen and use the text installer.

Remember that "automatic" will erase your hard drive in the process.

In addition, ensure the md5sums match before burning the ISO to a disk.

You should open a terminal window and look at installation.log and subprocess.log.  These will tell you why it crashed

I had this same problem, turned out I'd chosen a username with an initial capital letter. By changing my username from 'Reginald' to 'reginald' I was able to complete the installation process, no problem.
