[SOLVED] DNS servers
« on: October 27, 2015, 04:18:22 am »
I have a home router which can't act as DNS server. The only way to make it work is to set resolv.conf as immutable (chattr +i). Otherwise, there is some daemon which would reverse it to router IP. I am running Velocity 7.1, and network was initially set up with some XFCE tool. Is there any less drastic way to prevent resolv.conf from being overwritten ?

Add a /etc/resolv.conf.head file with the contents you want to preserve.  After this, even if resolv.conf is overwritten, it will have what you want first

It worked. Router is still added at the end, but, being third in row, it will not cause problem.

Do I need to mark thread as solved or something ?
