Bigger mouse cursor [SOLVED]
« on: February 27, 2016, 12:26:31 pm »

I'm looking for one. I noticed we have this package installed by default:
xcursor-themes-1.0.4-x86_64-1vl71 [inst=yes]: xcursor-themes (X11 cursor themes)

Does it have different cursors to install? And if so, what's the procedure?
Thank you...

Is there a list?
Listen, I'm from the Bronx, you need to make it simple.
Comic something.

My clairvoyance has been dismal lately, but let me put it to the test here.

Ohhhhmmmm.
ohhhhmmmmmmm.
OhhhHHHHMMMMMMM!

Macondo is using VL 7.1 Light, often uses jwm and icewm, and is not using ratpoison as much recently.

Am I right?  :P

So afaik using the window mangager's own tools for this is out, except perhaps for looking into their themes. I tried the edit ~/.gtkrc2.0 thing -- nogo with icewmvmods. So I'm thinking wm theme for that.

Several options at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cursor_Themes

Distilling that, I get
Code: [Select]
slapt-get --filelist xcursor-themes | lessWhiteglass, handhelds, redglass. There may be other themes in repos, didn't check. There are certainly more on the web. I've seen whiteglass before.

~/.Xresources is a nice file to have, even if it's empty. Putting cursor selection there works across several wm's.
Code: [Select]
Xcursor.theme: whiteglass
Xcursor.size: 32
I tried 48 first. Ubermongo.

~/.Xresources settings have to be loaded, so be sure this line is in ~/.xprofile:
Code: [Select]
xrdb ~/.XresourcesSometimes it's put in ~/.xinitrc instead.

I would never have known about xcursor-themes otherwise, so it works out all the way round  :)
