SeaMonkey is my daily driver on 7.1, and I've just updated it with the new package. Install was fine, and the many settings and customizations were retained. Note: On first restart, the 2.40 Release Annoucement/Notes is the initial homepage, but after first start it reverts properly to the home page the user had previously selected.

Thanks for updating this. If I forget to post back with a final thumbs-up in a few days, please give me a nudge.

Two days later, with some addons added and more out-of-the-way sites visited. Enabled HTTPS Everywhere, which would make problems with this update appear more frequently if there are any. Still working well.

From here, it looks like it's ready to move.

Anyone else?

Worked fine here.

I had an unrelated question about SeaMonkey, so I connected to moznet and joined #seamonkey. Here's a cutpasted excerpt from their channel topic:

"SeaMonkey 2.40 is out! (but the updating is horked...currently rectifying)"

No clue, trying to find out. Will let you know if I do.

Me, I'm still having no problems with the update.

OK, got the info. "Udating" refers to the automatic check for newer versions of SeaMonkey. The check fails to run at all. IMO, it's too bad we can't keep this "bug" when it's "fixed" in future versions :P

Edit: Just got word this was "broken" in 2.39, too.

So I don't think this is a reason not to move it into regular repos.
