Can't install "lxde-meta" (dependency failure).
« on: June 28, 2016, 11:16:43 am »
I tried to install the complete LXDE package (not LXQT) on VL "Light" 7.1, but gslapt responds with this pop-up error message:

  Excluding lxde-meta due to dependency failure (lxde-meta: Depends: lxsession).

I can't find a package called "lxsession" among those listed as available.
The lxde-meta package version is:  1.0.2-i586-1vl71
The source is:  vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-7.1/extra/

Can anyone else reproduce this error, or is there another "main" package I need to install first in order to get the "mature" version of LXDE?

Yes.  I can reproduce it.

Try adding this line to your /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc

Code: [Select]
SOURCE=http://vlcore.vectorlinux.com/pkg/untested/veclinux-7.1/x86/
then run "slapt-get -u; slapt-get -i lxde-meta" atain
let us know if that fixes it.
[/code]

Yes, that works!  Thanks for the quick response, and for the simple solution.
