My Dell GX280 primary drive failed.  loaded VL7.2B1.1 on this Presario.
Loaded B2-SR1:  Lilo still stopped - reinstalled w/o boot loader then restarted from CD.  Still no keyboard or mouse!
Boot loader did not touch MBR.
It may have been fixed but, when I attempted to install PHP5 in B1,   Gslapt says HTTP response code said error.  http, mysql and php7 installed fine.

Gslapt says HTTP response code said error.

In a terminal, as root, try running "slapt-get --clean && slapt-get -u" and see if it fixes that.

Good to see a release candidate, I posted what I could find back in march for std but still curious

Are the cupertino icons missing or have they been decidedly removed

should Abiword spell check in the std version

should I be able to see my thumb drive in thunar as root

the defaults are likely not set yet so there is a root folder on the panel

I likely cannot save a screenshot straight away

firefox will not be the default browser

smplayer will need the boxes unchecked for updates in the options preferances

I am downloading the light version for install at the moment.

Edit: Ok, installed Std RC1 to a toshiba satellite A100 designed for xp

Easy gui install from cd with xfce to existing partitions, grub, sda2

no issues with install or login

All the above still applies

no new findings so far

Of course, I had to uninstall php7 before installing php5

Since I'm already setup for php7, I'll keep it.

I am running VL-7.2-rc1-light  on my old Dell Optiplex SX270 and is running great! No hickups what so ever, stable and fast as can be. Although it's not a stable release yet, it's already a good release for me. Thanks!

I've run into a problem starting php

Don't know much about mysql, but I've seen the ".gvfs" errors. The way gvfs is set up, it gives find problems. I wouldn't worry about those.

Maybe using:
find / -name 'mysql.so*'
would yield some information?

Can you tell us a couple of things about your setup?

- Which php package did you install (php5 or php7) ?
- Do you have mysql or mariadb installed?
- Is this a 32-bit or 64-bit installation?
- How are you starting php?

The problem was trying to download php5 - see next previous post.  And php5 wouldn't install in the beta releases although, at the time, gslapt just said "HTML said error".
I am using php7, mysql is installed, this is 32 bit and starting php through mysql.  I think it is working except php is looking for mysql on localhost instead of 192.168.0.12 - trying to get that resolved.

Actually, adding the * at the end makes a difference.
