nm-applet behaviour in icewm
« on: February 01, 2017, 08:52:35 am »
I've recently installed VL-Light 7.2 rc2. I noticed a little black square in the left corner on my desktop. It seems to be connected to the nm-applet in icewm's systemtray. I commented the applet out in icewm's startupfile and now it doesn't come up anymore when I log in. I started the applet through the terminal and it started with a lot of errormessages, about things being deprecated. Maybe these messages caused this little black square?

Open the startup file for icewm (~/.icewm/startup)
find the line that reads "sleep 5"
increase the number to something like "sleep 8"
un-comment the line for nm-applet so it will start
log out and back in.

If you still get the little black square, increase the number a little more.

If the networking works okay then, you may ignore the warnings.. actually, you won't even see them. ;)
