Nightflier's suggestion to replace the use of wicd with using Network Manager is a good one for you, I think. First, you need wifi working in order to install Network Manager, I think.

Ctrl-a might be the easiest way to get root access in terminal. Enter root password, then
Code: [Select]
rm /var/run/wicd/wicd.pid
You may need to reboot up to three times for Wicd to start working again. Network Manager installation comes in the next post; you might be doing this in real time, right now, for all I know :)

Okay i actually already reinstalled haha, so i have internet connection currently

Nice, and really appreciate you posting the word back promptly.

I plan to offer a HOWTO on setting 7.2 Light up with Network Manager, but being able to delay that a bit helps me.

While you have Internet, download some packages to your computer so you have them available should you need them.

As root, run these commands:
Code: [Select]
slapt-get -u
slapt-get -i --download-only network-manager-applet

This will download, but not install what you need to replace wicd.
