Softmaker Office 2016
« on: October 28, 2017, 06:56:22 am »
Hi. Has anyone managed to install Softmaker Office (the latest version) in VLocity 7.2? I know LibreOffice is available but I find Softmaker better for what I call "mission critical" documents. (Also, I've already paid for it although I got it at a discount).

Thanks in advance,

CP .

Softmaker have just released the second beta of Office 2018, which unlike previous versions of Office is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

I've already paid for Office 2016 though, so once the beta has expired on February 19 the easiest solution is to install Vector 7.2 Standard so I can continue using it without having to pay anything extra (although I'd still be tempted by the official release.of Office 2018 if the price is right). Anyway, for those who like Softmaker Office there's a free version, Free Office, which has most of the same features of Office 2016 although it won't save documents in the latest Microsoft Office formats.
