I think is a good idea, a posible solution is move the Howtos section one level up, and then split it in some categories like "hardware", "networking", "x-server", etc.

Yeah...
When I first made he lay-out for this forum, I never realised home MANY HOWTOs there'd be.(It was a damn small community, back then after all...)

But if someone's going to pick up the task, maybe it's point to consider for which version(s) a specific HOWTO applies?

For clearly; a lot of HOWTOs for 4.0 are irrelevant for 5.0 and up.
And the same goes the other way around.

Looks like a full-time job to do it properly, if you ask me.
