Try rtorrent, it's in the 5.8 repo. It's a text interface, but very workable and can't get much lighter than that.

On your desktop there is an icon labelled "VL Docs" - if you open that and navigate to "VL Manuals" you will find a manual all about the VL packaging system and isntalling/removing packages.
In summary open gslapt, type the root password when asked, in the search pane type rtorrent, click the Search button, find rtorrent in the list, click it, choose install, click execute.

You will find it in the repos, search for "azureus".

ktorrent is very nice and i have used it with
over 100 open torrents .
Transmission seems simple but stable too.
These days I think we are getting to the point where in terms of cpu
and memory usage all these torrent clients are about the same.
