stoichyu has built and packaged Pidgin, the "new" Gaim. You can find it in the testing repository:

Pidgin works great, but in the SOHO build, the package is called Pidgin-2.0-i586-2vl5.8. That is different from this one, so it will be upgraded by using upgrade all. And I think the 2 stands for a more recent build package so it wouldn't need an upgrade.

Hm... I never made a 2nd one, so that's probably newer. Is the newer one in the repo as well?

Nope.. The newer one comes standard on the SOHO build. JohnB allready mentioned the naming thing, it has to be exact as the source name.
