Wine version 0.9.37 is considered a milestone release, in regard to major improvements made to Direct3d/DirectX emulation (
http://www.winehq.org/?issue=331#Direct3D%20Milestone).
This is great news for gamers who are still unable to find Linux ports for their favorite titles.
Combined with the use of Loki game installers (
http://www.liflg.org/), it can completely replace Cedega in many cases.
