CD mounting problem
« on: May 18, 2007, 06:30:06 am »

Just today I installed Vector SOHO 5.8 final and once again I faced an old problem i.e., unable to mount my cds.
When I insert a cd , the konqueror file manager opens the "system:/media/cdrom_1" folder whereas I have mounted the cd drive in /media/cdrom.
I couldn't link these two with ln command (because I don't know the exact path of "system:/media/cdrom_1" ).

Starngely , only Vector has this problem.

Do you have 2 cd/dvd drives?

If you wish to change this, then you can fin the links by
using the console and then issue ls -la should point to
the first device.

/media/cdrom -> cdrom0/ (cdrom0 is actually /dev/cdrom0)

then ls -la /dev/cdrom0 -> hdc (again is actually /dev/hdc/)

You can remove the link if it is pointing to the wrong drive and
then setup a new link.
