Newbie to VectorLinux but not Linux

Hi guys...
I'm new to VectorLinux, but not Linux.  I've been using Debian on a 64 bit box (both Intel and AMD64) for about 3 years now and VectorLinux has really caught my eye.  Is there anyone who can give me a primer (or link) highlighting the differences between the 2.  To me, linux distros are like choosing a favorite color, say blue over green.  Somedays I wear blue shirts, while some days I wear green.  But there are years where I have more green shirts in my closet
Looking forward to rolling up the sleeves of my green shirt and diving in;)

Welcome to Vector Linux.

I like the analogy. Vector is Slackware based.

The main package manager is gslapt. There
is a repository. Open gslapt and use update and
you should be good to go.

If you can not find the software you are looking for you
can use packages from linuxpackages.net and search
under the Slackware version. To find the Slackware version
cat /etc/slackware-version.

The multimedia setup in Vector is one of the tops from
any distro I have tried (there have been many).

BTW... is it me or does it sound like "ni" as I click around in VL

The problem with that is that we are no longer the Knights Who Say "Ni!" We are now the Knights Who Say "Ekki-ekki-ekki-pitang-zoom-boing!"

OK... So far, the only thing I've seen is that I've had to hunt a little more for packages.

And still trying to make it behave as a samba server in my company's intranet.
