Author Topic: [SOLVED] Can't copy files from USB stick  (Read 5922 times)

For some reason, I'm prevented from copying files from my USB stick on to my desktop (or any other folder).  It will mount and read the files, and it will let me copy a file from my desktop to the USB stick, but not vice-versa.

Is it because I don't have permission to do so?  If so, how do I gain access?

Or is it another issue?

Thanks

Please post the output of "ls -la" on the folders
on the USB stick.

Open a terminal window su and enter root password.

Then use "cd /mnt/pendrive" do not use quotes then
issue the command "ls -la" again no quotes.

Please post the output (results) here.

We need more info to help:

1- Which version of VL.
2- Is the USB drive mounted automatically?

Ooops, I know what's wrong.   Grin

It's USB stick since my other stick that I brought home from work will copy & paste both ways.  I hadn't entirely removed the U3 software from the SanDisk drive I was using.  Now it's works.

I appreciate all the help.  Thank you.
