exeterdad was kind enough to build k9copy, and upload the source and build data too:

k9copy:
k9copy: k9copy is DVD backup utility which allow the copy of one or more
k9copy: titles from a DVD9 to a DVD5. The DVD video stream is compressed
k9copy: by the program Vamps. Also will encode to xvid, x264, lavc mpeg-4.
k9copy: Will fit movie to cd('s) or dvd. No need to use dvdshrink with wine!
