After installing VL 5.8 SOHO Final all worked out of the box(it rocks on this Celeron 800Mhz 256MB!).
But after:

Gslapt - mark all upgrades. Apply. Standard mirror, no changes to excluded packages.

Result: when I reboot the system, no problem in text mode, but when starting KDE it comes just to a black screen With mouse cursor (I can move it). It doesn't look a xorg problem (tried with backup one). Can someone help?

For some reason, the update breaks the login screen. Find the GlassLights-SOHO directory and copy it to: opt/kde/share/apps/kdm/themes

Thank you so much! just passed from a sluggish-often crashing kubuntu feisty to this great distro... now I can keep exploring it Smiley
