So does this mean that VL finally gets properly identified when visiting websites (as mentioned in that DistroWatch article)?

That's right.  The useragent string now defaults to:
 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070530 SeaMonkey/1.1.2 (VectorLinux package 1.1.2-1vl58)

Thanks!  I think the new throbbers turned out nicely!  ;)

I meant to mention earlier that if anyone wants to play with subskins, you can find a full list of them by typing chrome://global/skin/about/about.html in the urlbar, when using Eurynome, Nereid or Nuvola.

Salut Incognu Mon Aminche!

Love your themes of course! ;) Especially the Nuvola one---whenever I try another theme in SM it just doesn't "look right" because I've used it for so long I've come to think of it as "the default". LOL! :D

Something I did wish to share though: The link you gave for the "Special Features Page" above in the chrome of each .jar file? Myself, I've gone and made a bookmark to that, so it's a simple click of a bookmark and voila! I'm there reading about all these special subskins I can turn on/off using the usrChrome.css file. Love it! Two thumbs up!

However, I was sitting here thinking of something---and doubtful such a thing could be done I suppose?---but could it be possible that when your themes are "installed/loaded/used" they likewise load such a bookmark automagically into a person's bookmarks? Or is this something that would border on the nature more of an extension?

I ask this because I was thinking just how useful such a feature would be for others. Not everyone comes into here to read the latest updates and so they're really missing out on these subskin features. I guess this is what I'm driving at. They'd be less likely to miss them with a bold link and a specialised favicon in bookmarks indicating "Nuvola Theme Features" or whatever, eh?

At any rate, just an idea. Keep up the fabulous work mon aminche! And I'm looking forward here to upgrading just so I can see the specialised throbber and proudly proclaim what distro I'm using! WOOHOO! :)

Amicalement,

Thanks, Eyes-Only!

Bookmarking the about page is a good idea ... I've got that (along with other config stuff) bookmarked for easy reference.

I don't think a theme can write to the bookmarks file.  (A cool idea would be to have it create an "about:theme" type link, along the lines of "about:config" -- but that would probably be more along the lines of an extension, and less useful than a bookmark.)

I've thought about putting an about:theme link in the default bookmarks for SeaMonkey packages.  There really are a lot of subskins for the themes, especially Eurynome -- which can even have two other icon sizes.

I have a "SeaMonkey" folder at the end of my Personal Toolbar, which contains all the relevant "about:" links, including about:theme.
