[SOLVED] problem with sound after upgrading to VL 5.8 SOHO
« on: June 12, 2007, 03:51:27 am »
I installed VL 5.0 SOHO and seem to have a problem with the sound. When it opens I hear a brief sound, but then nothing again. There was a time I received the message stating that there is a program using the sound system.
What should I do to solve this problem? I checked everything. Did I miss something?

Regards

Hello Peter,

please try to be more explicit and concrete.  Which program is telling you that sound is already used? Did detection of audio hardware and installation of ALSA system went well?
When you say that you hear sound? DO you hear it as system sound message or as distorted sound?

Thanks,

veki

Look here where it says "KDE Sound System"  http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3234.0 , it might work for you.
Most music on my soundcloud page was arranged in programs running on VL.
