[SOLVED] K3B does not see DVD writer although it exists.
« on: June 13, 2007, 04:02:03 am »

Hello,

when I start K3B I am prompted with information that there is no CD/DVD writing device found.
When I go in /Settings/Setup System Permissions, It sees my DVD RAM drive normally.

When I after that exit K3B and eneter it again it compaions that here is no CD/DVD recording device found.

please advise

I solved by deleting user,
logging out,
entering root account creating user with teh same name,
adding group burning and
assigning new user to that group.

Everything works ok now.

I suppose something was messy in script hat allows access to devices and that confused K3b so it sees device in permissions part by entering with root password, but does not see it after returning back to user domain of operation.

Maybe this will be useful to someone. :)
