Microsoft / LG Electronics agreement, Linux involved

Under the agreement, consumer electronics maker LG can use Microsoft-patented technology in its products, including Linux-based embedded devices, while Microsoft has access to LG's patents and can license other patents developed by the Korean firm.

Be careful, may be you will need MS permission to tie your shoes.
I really cant understand this, is ms developing for Linux devices?
Is this throwing some ligth over the ms strategy (novell agreement)? Think about it, Linux can use some ms patented stuff, so ms have rigths over some Linux distributions. So to use those Linux Distros, you´ll need to agree with ms terms. Can anyone help me to understand this?

If it's talking about software patents, no need to worry about it in your neck of the woods. Even in the few countries that do recognize them, Linux is now of too much pragmatic value to enforce them.

The M$ deal with Novell encompasses a very strange concept.
There is indemnification for the developres. But get this not the end user. It will take awhile to See if this is just more saber rattling or? Don't really care, to busy building.
