icecast radio and xmms2

A friend set up a nice internet radio on his server with icecast,and gave me the permission to stream my own internet radio from it with xmms2+its gui frontend gxmms2 (i'll pakcage it if you want,althought he already send me a binary compiled on his 58std machine)... so

I have some questions.
The radio seems to work just fine,but i was wondering if its possible to somehow hook it with a life microfon. I've even heard stories of people who were interviewed on an internet radio live with skype.

He told me to look into Jack for that. Is it possible to somehow broadcast live,other than just play mp3 playlists.

i really dont know much about Jack,or how to do it, but am very interested in this.

my PC is too slow to encode ogg in real time so I can't stream on my own

FOUND IT http://muse.dyne.org/ this ones looks great
it has a microphone, multiple channels and can fade between them

just finished testing MuSe. Playlist handling is not as good as xmms2 and there seems to be a 10 seconds delay but it could be due to the slow CPU. I can't say anything else bad about it, its the only program so far that worked as I wanted it to.
ices I could make run only a static playlist of ogg files
darkice/darksnow recorded directly from /dev/dsp and the quality was awful
xmms2 won't work if you change the encoding settings and they are too high for my pc

i'm gonna package this one later. It looks like a great app.

EDIT: ok,this app is way too buggy to be packaged. I get segmentation fault errors and the streams dont go on normal speeds,its either jumpy and fast,or too slow.

Any other apps out there
