at the end of the VL installation you need to change the root default password.......
http://www.vectorlinux.com/Docs/vl50/manuals/vl5_installation_guide_en.html#configure

there is few way of resetting the password...but it is a bit of technical for newbie like me..... Tongue

so, it is better for you to reinstall VL again and this time remember to change the root default password....

EDIT:

try this link...look simple to me....but never try it before...

Haha as I imagined Tongue, I'm going to reinstall Vector... I suggest that there should be some kind of sloution to this in the login screen for those people that skip the password configuration step!
Thanks for the support! See you  Wink

I think the password is empty if you don't set one. Can't hurt to give it a try.

Indeed, finally I arrived to the conclusion that if you write "root" in the user box and leave empty the otherone you can login!

Thanks Wink

That is very dangerous. Anyone can then login to your box as root and do whatever they like. You really should set a root password:  System, VASM, SUPER, USER, PASSROOT.
