In response to an issue raised by blurymind in this thread: http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3358.0 concerning the latest version of k3b, a package of dvd+rw tools 7.0 is now in the VL testing repository. YOU DO NOT NEED THIS PACKAGE IF YOU ARE USING VL 5.8 SOHO! If, however, you are using VL 5.8 Standard with KDE and the latest k3b, you will need this if you plan on buring multisession dvd+rw's.

Moved now to the veclinux-5.8 patches repository based on blurymind's post reporting that this package resolves the problem with k3b.

thanks john. After installing the latest k3b on my kde on my vector 5.8 std gold, i got the messages to upgrade growisofs to 7.0,so it supports multysession dvd-rws. Is k3b the only burning app that uses growisofs ?

No. IIRC, just about every burning GUI application is a front end in one way or another to growisofs, in that they call growisofs, mkisofs, etc., to do their thing. ;-)
