That would be nice, there is a slack Cinelerra package outhere, but I never got the dependencies to work rigth.

Cinelerra might be a bugger to build.
You don't need it tomorrow do you?  :P

If you go here (http://cvs.cinelerra.org/getting_cinelerra.php) you can find cinelerra that works very well with VL ready to go. I've loaded and (lightly) used this build often.

I tried building kino, dvgrab and cinelerra CV  soemtime last year with teh aim that i could finish in time for soho beta? but got stuck with soem dependencies and then did not have the time to continue with it.

unfortunately i have never been able to capture video well with dvgrab or kino.  i get about 600 MB worth video and then it just freezes or restarts the computer.
As fate would have it, i installed Ubuntu 7 and it my luck is not much better there.
Yesterday something happened to the power supply and i cant even start the damn machine now:(.

so im in no hurry. its ready when its ready :) but unfortunately i cant pitch in this time around.  Though you can bet that once the packages are ready, i will test them out thoroughly and give good feedback :)

thanks everyone.
cheers
