Hello,

I think that wengophone http://www.openwengo.org  may be built for use in VL.  It is open source VoIP application and it may be good to offer it as an open source alternative to Skype.

thanks,

veki

hello,

yes, it should be able to do it.  But, I witnessed also that when their binary is used with qt4 compiled it says that there are no libstdc++.so.6.  It is possible that it is compiled by using different gcc or cmake.

They did not put libstdc++.so.6 in thier binary so it looks them in the path.

best wishes,

Finally, I've been able to make the damn wengophone work!

Always had the same error with different versions, as well as a lot of people in their forum (those using slackware).
A user found the answer and reported it there.

Download libstdc++-4.0.2-8.fc4.i386.rpm from http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/2547310/com/libstdc++-4.0.2-8.fc4.i386.rpm.html
Extract both files with xarchiver (or whatever other way) and copy them to the wengophone directory. It works!

EDIT: This is with their binary. I don't know about compiling.

Hope it doesn't give me any problems... Test calls to a landline and a mobile seem ok, so far.
it cannot get better than this: open-source, call out, video, and a bunch of other features.

(I think it also supports google talk... can you give that a try, blurymind?)

Hello,

I tried to use it on my VL 5.8 SOHO Final and I got the following message when started from the terminal.
./wengophone.sh
(info) 14:56:10 Wenbox::Wenbox(): Wenbox dll not loaded
qtwengophone: cannot connect to X server

When I started it from Konqueror (as root) it opened nicely Smiley
I created Link to application on my desktop and it started up OK, , I registered as Wengophone user.
Now, tet\sting with use, any bugs... Wink
please report bugs on www.openwengo.org or on IRC chanell #openwengo on irc.freenode.net
I archived openwengo binary file with added libstdc++ and you can download it from
http://www.gnulinuxcentar.org/WengoPhone-2.1-minsizerel.tar.gz
Untar it , create a link to application on your desktop pointing to openwengo.sh in folder of openwengo and it should start and work.
If for some reason you miss or delete libstdc++ from your openwengo folder you can use them packed in .tar.gz archive that you can download from
http://www.gnulinuxcentar.org/Archive.tar.gz
Untar archive and copy those files to your openwengo folder and start  openwengo.sh from your GUI.

Thanks,

Vedran

Everbee's developers will accommodate the OpenWengo association and accord cipher accountant beneath the GPL license, appropriately accomplishing aegis by alienated obscurity.
Encryption of communications will be accessible afore the end of July for users of WengoPhone 2.0 application Wengo SIP service. The abstruse band-aid that is getting developed is based on sRTP.
Should you accept any catechism apropos aegis and Wengophone 2.0, amuse feel chargeless to ask Zv3N or str_ (sometimes toady) on our #openwengo IRC approach on FreeNode servers.IP PBX
