hi,

i am using soho 5.8 with kde

mplayer have never been running so far

here is the output:

didi:$ mplayer
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libavformat.so.51: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

from where can i find this libraries..or better, where to start to fix this issue

i already deinstalled and installed mplayer..no avail.

any ideas?

Apparently, libavformat.so is part of ffmpeg.

However, I don't have a libavformat.so.51, just libavformat-CVS.so. Also, my mplayer (on 5.8 SOHO) works fine, even without ffmpeg installed. Where did you get that mplayer package?

for slackware 11

In that case, you'll probably want to get the ffmpeg package from there as well.

sorry my fault..

i installed the ffmpeg package through gslapt.

then i saw something terrible in gslapt....no mplayer was installed

dont ask me now why....probably i lost the overview what was installed and what dont.(i reinstalled and deinstalled a few times mplayer)

so, sorry for your time guys...now its all running fine
