Festival is normally called by other applications.  But if you wish to play with it right away to see if it's working.  Just open up a terminal.

Code: [Select]
echo "Hello Vector Linux user" | festival --tts
Or:

Code: [Select]
saytime
Would appreciate confirmation this package works as it has no install script.  So packaging was a bugger.

I dunno???  Is it supposed to?  I've only ever needed it to run with something else.

Doh! easuter lol!  Hey...  you can't know everything right? lol

kidd...  Thanks for the confirmation.  That was a bit hard for me to package.  In the past I just ran it from my build directory.  But I couldn't very well have everyone else do that.  So I had to scoop up all the files and place them in sane locations.  Just wanted to know if it worked on someone elses box.

Heh, thanks for the info on that, I'll move it to the correct location  :D

And thanks for building this, after looking at the build script and the contents of the source directory...looks like it was a real bugger to build  :o

festival, IIRC, has a Lisp-like interactive interface.
