Hello again, Vector
« on: July 02, 2007, 09:12:51 am »
Hi everybody.

I've found that I was already registered at this forum, and already posted 4 questions!

But I feel new again, since I've decided to give Vector another try. (It's the nicest distro that can run at usable speed on my PIII 500 Mhz 128 Mb ram).

To be honest, the fastest and usable distro that I could find (and I'm using till today) is PUPPY, but I want to make Vector my main distro.

I'm posting a question about Scribus to start doing it.   :)

Regards.

Fernan.-

Well, welcome again then!!
Indeed, VL is fast. You should see it on a fast machine!
We have some Scribus hard users, I am sure they can help you  :)

Hi Fernan!

Welcome back!  As rbistolfi says, it is fast!  And I think that you'll also find that the community here is an excellent one.  Everyone has always been helpful and friendly to me.

Thanks

I know it's fast !!!! As I said, is the only distro that doesn't eat my 128 Mb ram !! (and as I can remember, it was one of the first distros that I've tried when I started in linux)

I had to forget about Xubuntu, Slax, Zenwalk and any other "light-weight" linux. And my only choice were the "mini-distros" (DSL, PUPPY, GRAFPUP). No other was usable on 500Mhz 128 Mb ram.

But Vector actually runs faster than W98 Me !! And with the latest software !

I'll start working today :)
