Hi all,

How to create a new folder on the Desktop ?  It was easy in Ubuntu and Fedora by right clicking and selecting from the pop up menu.  How to do this in VL 5.8 standard edition ?  Thanks in advance !

Well you can do it within the Thunar file manager by navigating to the desktop then right clicking anywhere then selecting "Create Folder".

Doing it from the actual desktop is rather strange.  But I've found you can right click on any shortcut.  A menu will appear.  There's a menu entry "Desktop".  From there you can "Create a Folder".

Strange.  Does anyone know a way that makes more sense?
