I'm running VL STD 5.1 and unless I'm mistaken, I haven't been able to find the ntpdate application. Where can acquire the application? Has anyone used this on a VL machine?

Thanks,

I do not recall if ntpdate was left in 5.1 would you check using this command:

find / -name ntpdate

I believe it is there. If so then there is a man page for it.

I submitted NTP a little while ago.  I "believe" it has the ntpdate application with it. It's in testing now. http://www.vectorlinux.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3543.0  It was built for VL5.8 though.  I've no clue if it will work for VL5.1

you can get the ntp package here:
http://packages.slackware.it/package.php?q=10.1/ntp-4.2.0-i486-1

you can get ntpdate at http://www.linuxpackages.net as a Slackware pacakge that will work under VL. If all you want is a program to get the time from a time server you might want to try "rdate" instead - it is simpler. Also available at the above website.

FYI: I was able to find / build ntpdate (ntp package) and it works just fine.

Thanks again,
