VectorLinux 5.8 GOLD LIVE CD - Save Settings?

Is it possible to save settings with the VectorLinux 5.8 GOLD LIVE CD like Knoppix and Puppy.....?

boot: vector changes=/dev/device

Is this a 'one-time' boot prompt or should I use it each time I boot?

I'm not too sure about this, but since it boots from cd (and writes nothing to it), I'd say you need it each boot or you'll just get the normal live environment. IMHO it makes little sense to use a livecd every day though, the best way to save settings to your system is to have a normal installation rather than a livecd.

What The_Headacher answered is correct. You need to use it at each boot.

The Livecd versions of VL are great to install on very small hard drives or pendrives 1-2Gigs you can run a full VL OS and save changes to the remaining freespace.

That could work out perfectly. Some of the kids we work with don't even have a place to keep a computer. This way, they can carry their 'computer' with them on a USB stick.
