incognu....

I really dig that paper!  I took it for a testrun and the softened background looks really good behind my icons.  Very easy on the eyes.  And with all due respect to the logo creator...  I like the colors of your globe.  It's glassy but not too bright.  Very classy IMHO.

Edited to add...

I meant to add that there are some pretty incredible wallpapers in this thread.  I wish I had that kind of creativity.  I wanted to comment on them the other day but they were posted before my time with this board.

Thanks, exeterdad!

I like the higher saturation in the "real" vl globe.  But, after I'd blurred and heavily reduced the saturation in the photo,  I felt the logo should be less saturated also to match the background.

The source included the unblurred original photo plus the fully saturated VL logo, if anyone wants to play with it.

[edit] Here's a version with the unaltered logo and the original (resized) photo:

Here's one I made for my desktop.  I don't want to send to KDE look without approval as I modified the logo's look a bit.

Opinions anyone?

Super Job!!
I really like this one myself.
I hope you don't mind, but I took that and went a few steps further with it, with the attempt to give it a more 3D look, and tried to give the text a look as though they are of molded gold pieces. Finally, I gave an additional light-glow effect to fit with the lighting on the objects. I hope that I didn't kill it's original beauty too much.

Of course I don't mind!  Honored even!

That came out pretty frick'n cool.  Didn't even occur to me that the objects were lit, but the light source was missing.  Good catch!

Last time I'm impressed with VL wallpapers was in the UKBill era.
Today, I'm busy collecting all cool wallpapers here Smiley

Well, I'm cooking a new VL dynamite.
I think it will be great if it gets some new wallpapers.
I would love ones like the
http://www.digitalrock.org/wallpapers/vectorGALACTICblue.png
or http://www.digitalrock.org/wallpapers/vectorSTARGAZING2.png

But with something boom, maybe a supernova or bigbang ;-)
Please make three pieces for:
- LILO boot screen
- Login screen
- normal Desktop

Thanks in advance Vicasso ....

Wow, this is cool.
http://www.kde-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=45516&file1=45516-1.png&file2=&file3=&name=black+Vector

I love it black like that, it will be easy to make it as 256 colors LILO boot screen.
Can we have a bigger resolution, but with smaller logo + text.

Thanks.

VL Aqua wallpaper:

1280x800 widescreen version

I was bored enough to try some VL artwork. I noticed I didnt have any wallpaper I wanted for my fresh VL59, so heres the outcome. Inspired by Moe's screenshot. (:...Still havent tried how it looks on my desktop. Feedback appreciated.

Edit: damn touchpad. I could reduce the saturation a little.....

Very sweet M-ake. Think you could make a 1680x1050 version for me? That would be awesome!
