;D thanks freeman.I do my best.
Here is another one:

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=45849

The blue that I like to see is with LESS saturation (than vec's curent). It can be either darker (like this one), or lighter (like the previous wallpaper one)... BUT with less color brightness (saturation) in the blue,it looks nicer and softer...much more easy to the eyes. ::)

This is another tone of the blue I would like to see in vec 6.A darker version of the blue tone. The blue that I want to see is with LESS saturation than the curent. It can be either darker (like this one), or lighter (like the previous wallpaper one)... but with less color brightness (saturation) in the blue,it looks nicer and softer...much more easy to the eyes. ::)

That's a really nice wallpaper !! I like this one a lot :)
very good job man!

thas a great one blurymind!  ;)

just one thing, if the wallpaper is going to be a final one it might be nice to upload a high res one as well (eg: 1600x1200) to your host because 1024x768 loses quality when used on high resolution desktops. i'm using 1280x1024 at the moment and that wallpaper does lose a lot of its appeal when it gets very streched.

do you have to redo it completely? cant you use gimp to scale the image? scaling a jpg image distorts it, but if you scale your original project it shouldn't lose quality i guess....

Yup... that's mine.... I think it represents the idea a little better. Choice does matter.

Damn! Blurrymind.. I think you're the Wallpaper God or something like that. Did you eat Cornflakes the last few days, or does it all happen when you dream it will?

Really like the drops to.. Maybe we can have a bundle of wallpapers packed with VL6, and at boot/install/first runtime you can chose. Wouldn't that be great? For everyone something different, because choice matters ( ;) MOE)  :D

Keep it up man! And contact a dev or someone, to include it if possible.

freeman> you are flattering me too much.  ;D  its not good for one's own sanity to feel like a god... but its nice.  :P

here's another one:
 http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=45884

I think of drawing 2 or 3 wallpapers for vector with a rocket. I dont know why,but the drawing of a rocket fits so well with this distro in my mind... btw, the original wallpaper is by dmitri popov (ist gpl too)... I just fixed the colors and added vl logo. ::) I got the original rocket idea from it.
Maybe the splash screen for the soho... with a silver-ish rocket...hmm

Aand another one, connected with space infinity:

VL Artwork Repository
« Reply #41 on: September 16, 2006, 10:24:34 am »

In reviewing this thread (and inspired by blurymind's earlier post in this thread), I've seen so many great wallpapers and works of art. As a result, I've started an artwork repository at the main VL FTP site at http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/vl-artwork. It's empty at the moment. However, those of you who wish to create artwork for VL and want it to go into the VL artwork repository, please create an ssh key on your box using the following instructions if you haven't already done so:

========
For Linux:
1) Open a terminal.
2) Type ssh-keygen -t rsa at the command prompt. A public-private key pair will be generated.
3) You will be prompted for a passphrase. While not absolutely necessary, it's a good idea to have one.
4) The public key file will be saved in a text file located at ~/.ssh/rsa_id.pub.

If you need to use a Windows box to access the site via SSH, PuTTY is the recommended SSH client.

1) Use PuTTYgen to generate a key pair. The key pair needs to be SSH-2 (either RSA or DSA will be fine).
2) Click the Generate button in the PuTTYgen window and follow the prompts.
3) Once the key is generated, copy the key from the part of the PuTTYgen window marked "Public key for pasting into SSH authorized_keys file" and paste it into the body of an e-mail (plain text format, please).

Once you have generated the public key (whether via VL, another Linux/BSD, Mac OS X or Windows), e-mail it to me at johnb316 at gmail dot com as a file attachment (preferred). If you have to put the key in the body of the e-mail (the case with PuTTYgen), use plain text as your e-mail format. Since I get a fair amount of e-mail daily, format your subject line like this:

VLforumname - SSH key (art)

I need to see the word "art" in the subject so that I give you correct instructions for access to the repository.

Cheers,
JohnB

Its indeed a great idea. This way we can store the vector linux old designs and review them too. Thanks for making it,john. Dont you think its a good idea to post these instructions as a sticky thread in this artwork section? (the one I asked about repository, why not erase my first post in it and replace it with these instructions, making it a sticky)  :P I dont really wanna tell you how to do your job,I just like things tidy. :)
