When we cright click on the CD icon on the Desktop there is no option for ejection of the CD media. in VL 5.8 std.
How to include this option in the pop up menu that comes on right clicking the CD icon. ?
You don't need an ejection option. If you insert a CD and double-click on the CD-ROM icon and get a display of files on the CD, the CD will be automounted. When you close any programs using the CD and close the Thunar file manager that's displaying the contents of the CD, the CD is unmounted when the file manager closes. You should then be able to press the button to eject the disk.
If you don't want to press the button, at a terminal prompt type
and the CD will be unmounted (if necessary) and ejected.
Another way to unmount a mounted CD is to click on the Devices icon in the XFce system tray on the XFce panel, find the CD-ROM drive in the list, and click on the center column. It should now say "not mounted" by the CD-ROM device. Press the button and eject it. You can also mount a CD in the same way: put the CD in the drive, click on the "not mounted" by the CD device, and it will be mounted. Do as above to unmount it.
So you see there are many ways.
