This would be nice to have. It's much like Amarok, but as I gathered correctly it doesn't need the KDE-libs, which means it's very suitable for my 5.8 Standard Xfce.

Some volunteers? Thanks in advance!

That's a pretty cool app!  If no one speaks up by next week, I'll give it a shot.

I use it at my workplace. It is based on firefox, I think. is a good app, as ff, needs some ram.

I haven't gotten any of the released Songbird builds released so far to play audio, which is pretty bad for an audio player. This might be because it's built with gcc4. I dislike it's messy interface and the fact it uses just gstreamer. I also don't see why I'd want to have a google, yahoo and wikipedia search in my audio player (amongst other trash), that's what a browser is for.

I might use it on Windows some time, but for now I'll stay with winamp in Windows and Amarok in Linux.

Building it on VL 5.8 will not be successful because it needs gcc 4.

ps. I also dislike the way the songbird devs try to make you use the prebuilds and you have to search to find the sources.

Most music on my soundcloud page was arranged in programs running on VL.
