you should see something like this
Code: [Select]
sh-3.1# ls -la /lib/modules/2.6.20.3/build
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 2007-07-19 13:00 /lib/modules/2.6.20.3/build -> /usr/src/linux-2.6.20.3
you must have the kernel-src package installed for this to work

Ok, I ran the command as you said.

Code: [Select]
philippe:$ ls -la /lib/modules/2.6.20.3/build
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 2007-07-22 09:49 /lib/modules/2.6.20.3/build -> /usr/src/linux-2.6.20.3

Then, to make sure, I ran slapt-get.

Code: [Select]
root:# slapt-get --install kernel-src
Reading Package Lists... Done
kernel-src is up to date.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Done

I guess they warned us about using other kernels.  But I'd still like to be able to compile stuff for the 2.6.20.3.  It's a hobby of mine to learn how get myself out of problems.

Ok, figured something out.  The kernel source I installed was for version 2.6.20, and not specifically for version 2.6.20.3.  I used the link given earlier and downloaded the correct source package.  I installed it, but I now get a new compile error of a different nature.  I'm wondering if the source code didn't get corrupted over time as I have been storing it on a usb flash drive.  I think this is a matter for a different thread though.  Thanks for the help in solving the kernel package problems :).  I will post my question in a new thread.
