Are you using the whole disk or dual booting?

If you are using the whole disk use cfdisk or fdisk to setup.

Ok. First of all, do not change keymap. Use default, US-English - it may save you from many troubles.

Use fdisk to wipe all, that is on disk, start with zero partition table and try to rerun.
Try not to return after repartitioning the hdd, but reboot - in some weird cases that may help.

Then, does the installer unpack something on your disk, is some progress made before error appears?
And, have you tried to use another CD-ROM for installing? Maybe this one has a specific problems.
