Manual modprobe commands appear to work

Do they also show up when you do lsmod?

hanumizzle helped me set up lm-sensors for gkrellm, but that thread was lost recently.

Calibration of GKrellM Temperature Sensor: Adjust "Offset" when computer is cold, just after boot. Adjust "Factor" when computer is warmed up, after ~30 minutes running.

Yep...

i2c_core               18816  5 eeprom,lm90,i2c_dev,nvidia,i2c_i801

root:# sensors -f
No sensors found!
Make sure you loaded all the kernel drivers you need.
Try sensors-detect to find out which these are.

Other than modules not being loaded, I cannot think of any other reason for it to work.
Are those the only modules detected by sensors-detect? What shows up in your /etc/sysconfig/lm-sensors?

I suppose it could also be that sensors-detect is actually getting it wrong. So far as I remember it outputs a confidence level for the modules it detects. Are those high in your case?
