Hello
I have SAGEM FAST 840 eagle-usb modem
I tried to configure my internet connection.
I have downloaded the driver from
http://www.sagem.com/support/site/driver/Fast8x0_3-0-6.tgz and followed the instructions
http://www.sagem.com/support/site/livret/gu_Linux_en.pdf . When I tried to ./configure I have received the error message "KERNEL-SOURCES CANNOT BE FOUND". But the directory /usr/src/ exists and within it ERNEL-SOURCE 2.6.18 as well (I have installed the optional package from the Vector 5.8 standard edition).
I have searched on the internet and downloaded the EAGLE-USB 2.3.3 TAR.BZ2 and the eagle-usb-1.9.9.1.tar.bz2 from
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=81588&package_id=83540 and tried to install these. I still get the error message "KERNEL-SOURCES CANNOT BE FOUND".
I have searched on the Internet for the error message itself and found this:
http://forum.freespire.org/archive/index.php/t-3267.html with a freespire specific advice. What do I have to do in Vector to get rid off this error message? What am I doing wrong that the ./configure and ./make scripts cannot find the kernel sources? Are they somewhere else in Vector than they are in other distributions? Thanks.
