070731 sqlite3-3.4.1
« on: July 31, 2007, 07:37:03 am »

An sqlite3-3.4.1 package is now in testing:

sqlite3: sqlite3 (An Embeddable SQL database engine)
sqlite3: SQLite is a small C library that implements a self-contained,
sqlite3: embeddable, zero-configuration SQL database engine.
sqlite3: SQLite Copyright: The original author of SQLite has dedicated the code
sqlite3: to the public domain. Anyone is free to copy, modify, publish, use,
sqlite3: compile, sell, or distribute the original SQLite code, either in
sqlite3: source code form or as a compiled binary, for any purpose, commercial
sqlite3: or non-commercial, and by any means.

NOTE: This "should" be a drop-in replcement for sqlite3-3.3.x, but it just might cause problems for some apps, according to this note in the 3.4.0 release:
This release also adds explicit limits on the sizes and quantities of things SQLite will handle. The new limits might causes compatibility problems for existing applications that use excessively large strings, BLOBs, tables, or SQL statements. The new limits can be increased at compile-time to work around any problems that arise. Nevertheless, the version number of this release is 3.4.0 instead of 3.3.18 in order to call attention to the possible incompatibility.

If this happens, let me know and I'll build 3.3.17 (the last 3.3.x version).
