running the e17pkg shell script
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:47:59 pm »
Hi

definitely testing the 'no question is too dumb' statement here  :-[

I'm just trying to install some items from the 'extras' cd. For enlightenment, the instruction is to
"run e17pkg --install"

In the terminal I've tried typing:
e17pkg
e17pkg --install
e17pkg.sh

all 'command not found' - I've ls to see the file extension but it lists as e17pkg* which I don't understand.

Thanks for any advice!

Did you try the command as root?

He probably did run as root, whose $PATH does not by default include '.' (current dir).

Ah, thank you, was running as root but didn't put in the './'

It seemed to work, no error messages. Shouldn't there be some new menu items now? I can't find anywhere to start it from - and also can't find a folder called e17?

Thanks
