Packaging for VL 6
« on: August 01, 2007, 08:03:49 pm »

As some of you probably know I've been building packages for VL 5.8.  I'd like to start building for 6.0 as well.  I can install Dynamite to a partition to work on this.  My thoughts are this:  it would be nice to have the internationalization/localization packages in Extra from day one of release or even in the beta period so that international users (or even Canadian users who prefer French) have what they need from the beginning.  I'd be happy to help with building things for the iso as well.

So... what do I need to do to get involved other than installing Dynamite?

We definitely know you've been helping out, And it is appreciated.

The best place to start would be to install http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/Uelsk8s/VL6.0-Pseudo-0.7.iso
It is a work in progress, and I know of a few things that need to be rebuilt there already.
Let us know what we can do to help you,

The download is in progress now.  I hope you don't mind that I also grabbed the Gambas Beginner's Guide :)  I'll burn and install it shortly and we'll go from there.

Thanks!
