caitlyn has built GSlapt 0.3.17. It is currently in the testing patches repository:

Package: http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.8/patches/net/gslapt-0.3.17-i586-4vl58.tlz

Code:
gslapt: gslapt (a GTK version of slapt-get)
gslapt:
gslapt: slapt-get is an APT like system for Slackware package
gslapt: management.  gslapt provides a GUI front end to slapt-get
gslapt: and is similar to synaptic on Debian based systems.
gslapt:
gslapt: http://www.jaos.org
gslapt: Jason Woodward <woodwardj at jaos dot org>
gslapt: GNU General Public License, version 2

Post feedback here.

One note:  This package has new or improved translations for Catalan, French, German, Spanish, and Turkish.  If folks use one of those languages as their user default you should see a big difference.

When this version is downloading data it says "Download rate xxx k/s". This really should read kB/s, otherwise it's rather meaningless.

That's not something the packager can help. But you could tell Jaos (the developer), he's a member of this forum, his site is http://software.jaos.org/ . Personally I think "k/s" is perfectly understandable.

Most music on my soundcloud page was arranged in programs running on VL.

It seems to be working fine here too (the k/s doesn't bother me), so moved to patches/.
