Thanks Caitlyn! I'm downloading it (JWM) right now and will install it later.
This is good - JWM is the default window manager in Puppy, which I also use.

It's also one of two choices in Damn Small Linux (the other beibg fluxbox) and it is definitely the lighter and faster of the two. Enjoy!

Working nice here too, just 37mb of ram used after boot A little note: The menu says msn messenger instead amsn, is this part os some kind of agreement between MS and VL, like novell, lg and others? Can I have vl-hot on XP now?

Very nicely done! You ought to repackage your customized version and increment the extraversion number. I think I like your customizations better than my quick and dirty one. That... or, if you're willing, send me your system.jwmrc file and I'll repackage and give you credit in the description.

I'll try the new customisations when I've got a bit more time. JWM works well with xfdesktop too, which I appreciate.
Thanks to both caitlyn and dawnsboy for their efforts.

I got it but I've been insanely busy. I will repackage with your customizations soon. I haven't forgotten I know what you mean about being (insane)ly busy. It dawned on me after I sent the file that I had added a number of packages to my setup and maybe I should edit the file to take those out of the menu so that it reflects a stock install of VL 5.8 standard. It would probably be easier for people to make their own additions than to take out mine and then add theirs. Did that make sense? I will thin it out some and send you another copy.

Yes, it makes sense. I'm probably moving to packaging for VL 5.9/6.0 now so when you get it done it will end up in the JWM package for the new release. I hope that's OK.
