When i installed VL there was no root password, this is a 'dumb' question but, how do i make/change my root password--AND--how do i make a sudo user.. thanks for dealin with this Slackware new bee.

vasm is your friend...
simply execute vasm as root from a terminal, or look for it in the menu Wink

You should have been asked during the installation to set up your root password. It also runs through setting one regular user.

If you are using a LIVE version then in the FAQ forum you will find a topic with the default user/pass for user and root.

You can certainly set up sudo-users in VL, but the typical way of administering a VL/Slack system is by actually switching to root, doing your tasks, and exiting root.
